Lyrics

A single light burned, in a shed by the lake,...
burned night after night for a year.

The smell of the wood, the dust on his face,...
though his purpose was perfectly clear.

He'd saw and he'd shape, measure and tape,...
from the bow all the way to the stern.

Just a Little Red Boat, a vessel of hope,...as each piece of him went in.

He never quite heard, what the doctor had said,...
about how much time he had left.
All that he wanted, was sittin' on that bench,...
by the lake in a dusty ol' shed.

His family never called, or cared that they saw,...
what the years had been doing to him.

Just a Little Red Boat, a vessel of hope,...as each piece of him went in.

On a cold winter's day, as his breath slipped away,...
he anchored the boat to a line.
Secure in it's tether, it resisted all weather,...
and the years showed no mark of time.

Staying strong to its moorage, a soldier of courage,
a beacon of life for all.

Just a Little Red Boat, a vessel of hope,...the Spirit of him within.
