Writing a song about a specific, intimate moment in time is a bit tricky. It’s vitally important to accurately reflect the emotions and thoughts of the person as they are happening. It’s like being an invisible witness to the scene.
This song started with the guitar riff. And as I played it over and over, it portrayed this bluesy, intimate kind of feel, something that had to be very personal. As I sang the first line. “C’mon… baby please talk to me”, the rest of the story just kind of fell into place.
I recorded it with my good friend and bandmate, Jody Gray, in Florida. We kept it very simple and natural.
